About us
Kindness in Action: Because it's their world too
We’ve been changing the world for animals since 1998. Founded by Jill Robinson MBE – the world’s leading authority on bear bile farming – Animals Asia has rescued hundreds of bears from unimaginable cruelty and inspired a movement grounded in empathy, respect, courage and tenacity.
But we don’t just rescue animals – we create lasting change.
Our work is focused in Vietnam and China, and we partner with NGOs in South Korea, Indonesia, and beyond. We work with governments, traditional medicine practitioners, communities, schools and NGOs to replace cruelty with compassion.
At the heart of our approach are four principles:
- Empathy: Inspiring understanding through emotional connections with animals
- Negotiation: Building solutions through respectful collaboration
- Education: Teaching the next generation and promoting cruelty-free alternatives
- Investigation: Gathering evidence to expose cruelty and drive change
Together, these values power everything we do, creating a kinder world, one life at a time.
