Animals Asia thanks Ricky Gervais for generous donation

Animals Asia has been chosen by Ricky Gervais as one of the animal charities to receive a donation this Christmas.  Ricky announced the donation on 9 December on X.

Jill Robinson, CEO and Founder of Animals Asia, said: “We are deeply grateful to have been chosen by Ricky Gervais as one of the animal charities he is so generously donating to. Ricky’s gift comes at a crucial time as we strive to free the final 150 bears still trapped in tiny cages on bear bile farms in Vietnam.  After decades of work to end this cruel industry our goal is now within reach.

“Ricky has been an incredible supporter of our work for many years and has even been a guardian for Derek, a beautiful bear we rescued. What a wonderful Christmas gift for the last surviving bears on bile farms –  the chance of rescue and to finish their days in freedom. We would like to say a huge thank you to Ricky for his extraordinary commitment and kindness to these bears.”
