Thousands of huggers across the world have made sure that Animals Asia’s Bear Hugs for Bears Week is here to stay.
As plans for dolphin park in Danang, Vietnam hang in the balance, Animals Asia is reminding city leaders - there is no such thing as an “eco” dolphinarium.
Around the world this week thousands of people are playing their part in raising awareness and much needed funds to help end bear bile farming - by hugging!
Pippin, Tai Tan and Eclipse were all rescued from bear bile farms. Vet Sheridan Lathe describes the ailments they suffer and how they are treated as they grow old in their sanctuary.
Moon bear Jasper spent 15 years in a Chinese bile farm crush cage. Rescued by Animals Asia he spent 15 more as the life and soul of the sanctuary before his death this week.
A bear rescue is currently taking place in Danang, Vietnam by Animals Asia - ahead of an 800km drive back to the animal welfare charity’s sanctuary near Hanoi.
