CAT AND DOG WELFARE

We work to improve the welfare of companion animals in Asia, and to end the dog meat trade in China and Vietnam.

China

In China, we work with rescue groups, shelters and animal welfare volunteers all across the country to improve conditions for cats and dogs, while raising awareness of animal sentience and welfare in local communities. We lend our support to government departments and officials as they work to improve companion animal policies and we host annual conferences for both groups to share information and experience in a collaborative effort for cats and dogs in China.

Vietnam

In Vietnam, we focus our resources on ending the illegal transport of dogs from the south of the country to provide for the dog meat trade in the north. Our latest petition is calling on the Vietnamese government to make the sale of dog meat illegal in Vietnam, as a major step towards ending the trade for good.
