Gorgeous moon bear juvenile Nora JamJack couldn’t look more stunning.

Pictured here with a bamboo feeder, Nora JamJack – previously nicknamed Misty – spent hours recently at our Vietnam sanctuary playing with a piece of bamboo.

Why? Because she just loves the tasty smears such as jam and shrimp paste that sanctuary staff have placed inside.

Using her exceptionally long moon bear tongue, Nora JamJack licked out every last drop before chewing, hugging and eventually smashing the bamboo feeder.

Bear Manager Sarah Dempsey said:

“Our horticulture team makes these by drilling holes in mature bamboo to make a type of puzzle feeder that smears such as jam, coconut caramel, rice or oat mix can be put inside.

“The younger bears like Nora JamJack tend to spend a long time playing with them, even once they're empty, and particularly enjoy destroying them!

“Nora JamJack is still a feisty and playful young bear who is very vocal at feeding time and can be a little bossy with some of the boys! She and her sister Rain may be the two smallest bears in their group of six bears, but size is apparently not an issue for Nora JamJack – she will happily wrestle anyone!”
