Moon bear Maggie is singing in the rain

24 August 2015

Happy #MoonBearMonday everyone!

After the stormy clouds have chased every bear from the place, one very happy moon bear greets the rain with a smile on her face.

And what an infectiously content smile moon bear Maggie wears as she laughs at the grey clouds.

In many ways this is typical Maggie behaviour. Growing up at our Vietnam sanctuary after being rescued as a cub in 2009, Maggie has left no-one in any doubt about her sunny disposition.

Animals Asia Vietnam Bear and Vet Team Director Annemarie Weegenaar said:

“Maggie’s colourful character has been plain to see ever since she arrived. She’s an extremely playful bear who loves nothing more than flirting with the boys and climbing the enclosure play structures.”

In stark contrast to her close moon bear pal Vandrew’s health problems, Maggie has never known the horror of bear bile farming. Instead she has grown up in a cruelty free environment, free to exhibit natural behaviours and as a result enjoys near perfect health.

Maybe that’s why she smiles at the rain? Or maybe she just loves #MoonBearMonday as much as us?
