Little Murphy is a sun bear cub who arrived at our sanctuary dirty, starving and traumatised. His mother was sadly killed, likely in front of him, by wildlife traffickers who then stuffed him into a backpack and attempted to smuggle him out of the country. Murphy was so young when he came to Animals Asia, that he had to be bottle fed around the clock and her learned to walk here.

But today, now two years old, little Murphy is running, walking and even leaping off platforms like a little monkey man!

As cheeky as ever, with his new best friend Goldie, he spends most of his time getting up to mischief and wrestling the day away. But he's also a kind and caring little chap when occasion calls, and is gentle and friendly with the newly rescued nervous bears who come into his group.
