Imagine living every day in pain, barely able to eat, trapped in a tiny metal cage. That was Jeffrey’s life.

For over ten years, he survived on gray, slimy mush – and half of his tongue had been ripped away. He was starving, weak, and alone before he was rescued.

No one knows how he ended up like this, or how long he suffered before anyone came to help. Every day was agony. Just swallowing a bite of food hurt him.

Right now, rescued bears need two tonnes of extra food every week before the cold weather sets in. Fresh fruit, vegetables, and healthy meals cost money – lots of it.
