Why do rescued bears still need your help?

Bears rescued from bile farms, illegal trafficking, and abusive entertainment industries often arrive traumatised and sick. Many have spent years trapped in tiny cages, starved and subjected to painful bile extractions. They suffer missing limbs, broken teeth, infected wounds, deep psychological scars and more. 

This was Dawn’s story. She was the most broken bear we had ever seen. Even after she arrived at the sanctuary, she was unable to do anything but rock herself back and forth. She turned her gentle face away from her new carers, afraid they too wanted to harm her.
