Vietnamese TV star and online influencer is educating families about moon bears with Animals Asia

Minh Trang really enjoys watching bears living happily at Animals Asia's sanctuary

Recently the Vietnam Bear Rescue Centre was lucky enough to receive a visit from the popular Vietnamese television host Minh Trang. At the centre of the Tam Dao National Park, Minh Trang met Wendy the Moon Bear. It was love at first sight. Wendy is a total sweetie, who loves to relax roam around. It's not surprising because before Animals Asia rescued her from an illegal bear bile farm in 2010 she was kept in a tiny cage for six years. Now she is free to stretch her legs and play with her friends!

Minh Trang said:

“To me she represents Animals Asia's commitment to kindness in action which is why I’m so pleased to be helping to spread their message to families in Vietnam.”

Over five thousand families are subscribed to a monthly Surprise Box provided by Minh Trang and Animals Asia has included some very special gifts to help spread awareness of moon bears to children and parents. The gifts include bear handbooks, stickers, postcards and traditional lucky bags used to celebrate Tet and the Lunar New Year in Vietnam.

The Tet celebration is the biggest family holiday in Vietnam and the chance to create a link between the good feelings of the holidays and our precious moon bears is a totally unique opportunity. This year is the first year that our moon bears on at both the Vietnam and China Bear Rescue Centres will also be celebrating the Lunar New Year along with their bear carers and the rest of Vietnam and China.

Minh Trang added:

I love working with Animals Asia because they are just like a really big, kind family. It’s so great to be able to help educate Vietnamese children and their parents about how amazing moon bears are, and hopefully this will inspire a whole new generation of animal lovers here in Vietnam!
