On October 27, 2013, Animals Asia’s Boston Volunteer Group hosted a table at the 18th annual Boston Vegetarian Food Festival. According to Boston Volunteer Group leader Mary Robles, “It was an excellent, highly trafficked event that brought together some of Boston’s best vegan food producers and thousands of environmental and animal welfare advocates from Boston and surrounding areas.”

The group spent the day speaking with people new to Animals Asia as well as longtime supporters, handing out brochures, raising funds, and spreading the word about Animals Asia’s work. Mary adds, “So many attendees were shocked to learn about the cruelty of the bear bile trade and the plight of dogs and cats… and were inspired by the success of our programs as well as the message of compassion spreading in China. Most were eager to voice their support as well as contribute….”

Many thanks to Evelyn Kimber, Boston Vegetarian Society President, who generously donated the use of the festival space to the group for free.
