Tamara L. Bond, J.D
General Counsel
Tamara has been working in the animal welfare sector since 2003, when she joined Animals Asia as General Counsel.
Tamara is responsible for all legal issues related to the organisation worldwide. In addition, she has worked to promote improvements in Hong Kong’s animal welfare legislation, including advocating for increased penalties for cruelty to animals. She has participated in government-NGO panels to review statutes affecting animal welfare, presented at international animal law conferences and worked with young lawyers and law students to encourage the practice of animal law. Tamara has also testified before the Hong Kong Legislative Council advocating for the implementation of animal welfare laws.
Prior to moving to Hong Kong, Tamara obtained a Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center and served as an antitrust attorney at the US Federal Trade Commission. After reading an article about Jill Robinson, she was so touched by Jill’s work that she left the corporate world to join Animals Asia.
