Jan Murphy
At a very early age I knew animals were going to be central in my life. I grew up on a small farm in Washington state, surrounded by animals.
Very early on my father gave up on the idea of farming as he learned our family wouldn’t tolerate cruelty of any kind and our farm became a lovely mini animal sanctuary. I became involved in the fight for animal rights in the early 80’s and have worked extensively in greyhound rescue, laboratory animal reform, farm animal legislation, spay/neuter programs, and eventually animal shelter management.
When I met Jill Robinson and learned about the plight of moon bears many years ago, I knew I had to get involved. It is an honor to represent Animals Asia and serve on the USA Board of Directors.
