years ago this April, Jill Robinson first walked onto a bear bile farm. On that day in April 1993, Jill could have walked away, but she chose to act and do what she could. Today, you also have a choice. If everyone reading this donated just US$20, it would pay for the care of over 150 bears at our China sanctuary for a full year. Please help us celebrate 20 years of progress. Donate US$20 today (or whatever you can afford).
Welfare groups join forces against the mass slaughter of dogs in Hanzhong
Animals Asia has joined forces with Humane Society International, ACTAsia for Animals, and the International Fund for Animal Welfare, and sent a joint letter to the authorities in China, condemning the mass slaughter of dogs in Hanzhong, and asking them to consider more humane, more effective, internationally recognised methods of controlling rabies. This letter has been sent to the Governor of Shaanxi Province and the Mayor of Hanzhong City. Copies have also been sent to the Minister of Public Health and the Chief Veterinary Officer in China, and the Chinese government's representatives in Hong Kong.
You can find a copy of the letter here.
