years ago this April, Jill Robinson first walked onto a bear bile farm. On that day in April 1993, Jill could have walked away, but she chose to act and do what she could. Today, you also have a choice. If everyone reading this donated just US$20, it would pay for the care of over 150 bears at our China sanctuary for a full year. Please help us celebrate 20 years of progress. Donate US$20 today (or whatever you can afford).

We are deighted to announce that Jill Robinson, Toby Zhang, our External Affairs Director, David Neale, our Animal Wefare Director, and our Chinese government partners from the China Wildlife Conservation Association (CWCA) and Sichuan Forestry Administration have been invited to speak at a seminar "Bear farming, animal cruelty and the development of animal-protection in China" to be held in the European Parliament on 16 November 2010.
The seminar is hosted by Members of the European Parliament Eva-Britt Svensson (Confederal Group of the European United Left), Carl Schlyter (Group of the Greens/European Free Alliance) and Peter Skinner (Socialists and Democrats) in joint co-operation with Animal Protection Network Sweden and Animals Asia Foundation.
The European Parliament has provided support to the Chinese government in its leadership role of ending bear farming since the passing of a declaration in the parliament in 2006 signed by the majority of MEPs. This seminar provides an excellent opportunity for the European Parliament to show additional support for our work and the work of our government partners to end bear farming and generate further support for the development of animal-protection legislation for all animals in China.
