years ago this April, Jill Robinson first walked onto a bear bile farm. On that day in April 1993, Jill could have walked away, but she chose to act and do what she could. Today, you also have a choice. If everyone reading this donated just US$20, it would pay for the care of over 150 bears at our China sanctuary for a full year. Please help us celebrate 20 years of progress. Donate US$20 today (or whatever you can afford).
Gigi Fu and her beautiful, blind, Pekingese dog, Ocha are wonderful ambassadors of our Dr. Dog programme in Hong Kong, where Dr. Ocha is a true best friend to the children at the Ebenezer Home for the Visually Impaired. Helping these children overcome their problems with a happy, positive spirit, Gigi and Ocha play a touching and important role in boosting their confidence and instilling a love and respect for animals in their hearts. Alongside other celebrities and caring people from China and Hong Kong, Gigi and Ocha also feature in our latest "Dr. Eddie: Friend..or Food?" video calling on everyone to stop eating dogs and cats and to celebrate the companionship and love these often neglected animals bring to our lives.
Through her many media appearances, and in the books she writes, Gigi has rightfully earned her role as one of the leading young ambassadors for animals in Hong Kong, with her call for people in the community to live and work harmoniously with companion animals. Her ongoing concern for taking care of the world around us also extends to teaching the young people of Hong Kong to consider what they wear and eat - which can ultimately affect the lives of literally millions of animals in Asia and across the world.
