World Animal Day Report 2010
Beijing Lucky Cat / Sunflower Animal Welfare Group: Beijing, China
Beijing Lucky Cat, Sunflower Animal Welfare Group (founded by Zhangdan), and Animals Asia Foundation worked together to hold a WAD celebration on 24 October 2010.
More than 100 people gathered for this special event and to see the many beautiful photos that won awards in our “Sharing love with them” online photo contest. All the photos recorded the love of the owners for their companion animals.
Ten Beijing dog or cat owners were presented with awards, and received a cup, medal, certificate and other prizes.
Little Bear Group, the first animal-welfare children’s chorus, and some students from the Chinese Music University attended the event, singing songs to celebrate World Animal Day: Together they sang “Little Bear” – calling for an end to cruel bear farming in China.
