20
years ago this April, Jill Robinson first walked onto a bear bile farm. On that day in April 1993, Jill could have walked away, but she chose to act and do what she could. Today, you also have a choice. If everyone reading this donated just US$20, it would pay for the care of over 150 bears at our China sanctuary for a full year. Please help us celebrate 20 years of progress. Donate US$20 today (or whatever you can afford). |

“Jasper’s Story: Saving Moon Bears” – The first children’s book by Jill Robinson
Animals Asia Founder and CEO Jill Robinson has penned her first children’s book, “Jasper’s Story: Saving Moon Bears” with co-author Marc Bekoff, PhD. Published by Sleeping Bear Press, this beautifully illustrated story of survival and forgiveness is a great way to share Animals Asia’s work with young readers. In the book, Jill recounts the rescue and rehabilitation of one of the organization’s ambassador moon bears, Jasper. Her collaborator, Marc Bekoff is a widely published writer and expert on the inner lives of animals. The book’s illustrator, Gijsbert van Frankenhuyzen spent time at Animals Asia’s China Bear Rescue Center prior to working on the book, in order to observe and sketch the bears in person. The resulting art masterfully captures the beauty and individual personalities of his subjects. Watch a video about “Jasper’s Story” here. . Please click here to purchase a copy.

Animals Asia has named Matt Sorum, the Los Angeles-based drummer who has played with Guns N’ Roses, The Cult and Velvet Revolver as our newest Ambassador for the United States. Coinciding with the announcement of Matt’s new role, a video titled “Can’t Bear it” has been released in which Matt along with celebrity friends Joe Elliott (Def Leppard), Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple), Duff McKagan (Guns N’ Roses), Steve Stevens (Billy Idol), Gilby Clarke (Guns N’ Roses), and Sebastian Bach (Skid Row) speak on the plight of bears farmed for their bile in parts of Asia - and Animals Asia’s work to put an end to the practice. If that weren’t enough, Matt has also inspired Ringo Starr to tweet his support for the bears, and enlisted fellow Guns N’ Roses member Slash to tape his own PSA .
