The care of rescued bears at our sanctuaries in China and Vietnam requires expert knowledge in veterinary care and bear management, and specialist facilities. We aim to provide our bears with a safe, healthy, comfortable, and stimulating environment in which they can live out their lives, free of the fear and pain associated with their previous lives on farms.
In managing our bears, there are many things we need to take into consideration. We are often asked questions about what kind of enrichment we provide, whether we allow our bears to breed, and whether any of our bears might eventually be released into the wild. These are important and complex issues. We hope that the links below help to explain our current position and practices, and be of interest to other organisations that manage captive bears.
