years ago this April, Jill Robinson first walked onto a bear bile farm. On that day in April 1993, Jill could have walked away, but she chose to act and do what she could. Today, you also have a choice. If everyone reading this donated just US$20, it would pay for the care of over 150 bears at our China sanctuary for a full year. Please help us celebrate 20 years of progress. Donate US$20 today (or whatever you can afford).

Ciska de Hilster explains how they raise awareness and funding
Ciska de Hilster. Coordinator of our Netherlands support group has outlined a few of the things her support group do to raise awareness and funds for Animals Asia.
"In Supermarkets we have placed deposits where people donate their receipt of their returnable bottles. The receipts are collected once a month and the profit varies from 20 to 500 euros per supermarket per month. For now we have these deposits in six supermarkets but we would like to extend this to more supermarkets throughout the country.
We distribute flyers in as many cities as we can. From this we get donations. On events we try to arrange a stand to promote the work of Animals Asia. As for collections, until now I only have permission to collect money in my hometown but we are working on getting permission for collecting throughout the country. We also have permanent collection boxes at four pet shops.
My colleague Ellen and I have given lectures at a university and at a school for vocational training. On our website we are working on a special page for kids, to provide information for kids about the Moon Bear Rescue program. There is educational information for teachers and information for kids that want to write a paper or other projects for school about the moon bears.
We have written a booklet for kids, which just has been published in a small run. Itís called ĎThe adventures of Moony the moon bearʼ . We already sold a couple a these booklets.
Because our organisation is still a small one, we havenít been able yet to set up a big event. Itʼs my dream to one day organise an auction to raise money for the moon bears. With that in mind, I have already commissioned an artist to make a painting of Prince, from his photograph in the Freedom Moon book. And hopefully we can expand our work in the near future to support Animals Asia even more."
