The first bear rescued is our big female, now nicknamed Nelly, with her right forepaw missing and some of the worst teeth the team has ever seen. Nelly also has overgrown claws, hyperkeratotic footpads and infected fluid dripping from her chin, possibly the result of such bad teeth that the infection is breaking out through her jaw bone.
