years ago this April, Jill Robinson first walked onto a bear bile farm. On that day in April 1993, Jill could have walked away, but she chose to act and do what she could. Today, you also have a choice. If everyone reading this donated just US$20, it would pay for the care of over 150 bears at our China sanctuary for a full year. Please help us celebrate 20 years of progress. Donate US$20 today (or whatever you can afford).
International travel experts World Expeditions/HUMA Challenge have designed a fabulous tour for Animals Asia and we hope you’ll consider joining us on this incredible adventure taking place 5 - 15 September 2011.
The trip begins in Beijing where travelers will spend two fabulous days visiting historic sites including the Forbidden City and Temple of Heaven and walking a portion of the Great Wall before boarding an overnight sleeper train to Chengdu in central China..
In Chengdu, you will be treated to a full day at Animals Asia’s China Bear Rescue Center and a chance to learn first hand from Jill all about the bears who call the centre home.
This is your opportunity to meet Jasper, Emma, Oliver and all of their friends! Your day at the center will culminate in a wonderful evening celebration on the rooftop of one of our bear houses with peaceful views of the sanctuary below.
In Chengdu you will also visit the Giant Panda Breeding Research Center before boarding another train for an epic journey through majestic mountain scenery and into Tibet.
A Visit to Lhasa
Once in Lhasa, you’ll have the opportunity to spend time in Barkhor and Jokhang, spiritual centers of Tibet and destinations for millions of pilgrims each year. You’ll also visit the winter and summer palaces and several ancient Buddhist monasteries. Tibet is like nowhere else on earth and at every turn you’ll find yourself face-to-face with centuries-worth of magnificent history and culture.
This tour is not only the adventure of a lifetime, it is also an opportunity to support our lifesaving work to rescue moon bears and end the bear bile industry as the US$3,790 cost of the trip includes a $1,500 donation to Animals Asia.
The tour cost does not include round-trip international airfare. World Expeditions is happy to help you book flights or you may wish to do so through your own travel agent or miles program.
