years ago this April, Jill Robinson first walked onto a bear bile farm. On that day in April 1993, Jill could have walked away, but she chose to act and do what she could. Today, you also have a choice. If everyone reading this donated just US$20, it would pay for the care of over 150 bears at our China sanctuary for a full year. Please help us celebrate 20 years of progress. Donate US$20 today (or whatever you can afford).
On 13 April 2012, Animals Asia’s Dr Dogs were invited to visit Garden Estate Baptist Nursery School as animal ambassadors for “life education”.
The Dr Dog team and volunteers demonstrated how to approach dogs and explained some basic dog care for the young students. They were happy to see how quickly these “little people: had picked up on the information when they were asked to show what they had learnt.
Special thanks to Dr Shek Q, Dr Jeep and Dr Dor Dor who brought such delight to nearly 100 children.
A very lovely thank you card from the kindergarten to our brilliant Dr Dogs.
Chengdu Dr Dog exam
On 22 April 2012, the Chengdu and Hong Kong Dr Dog teams worked together on the “Chengdu Dr Dog exam”, testing new would-be Dr Dog volunteers.
The result of this strenuous test was very satisfying, with 10 out of 24 dogs passing the exam and 3 dogs on hold, pending improvement and re-examination.

Together we care — Thanking Volunteers Day
On 19 May 2012, Animals Asia’s Dr Dog volunteers were invited to attend “Together we care — Thank Volunteers Day”, in conjunction with the Hospital Authority’s 20th anniversary ceremony. Queen Elizabeth Stadium was packed with over 2,500 volunteers from different organizations.
Animals Asia’s volunteers and staff attend the ceremony.
Each hospital sets up its own volunteer teams and recruits various enthusiastic people from the community, including professionals, business sector employees, housewives, retirees, students and volunteer groups such as Dr Dog.
Special thanks to Fanny, KK, Doris, Kevin and Iris.
