Teaching volunteers leading the Pet Cadet singing competition
Our Professor Paws Fun Day was a huge success! Inviting 170 students from 5 different social groups in the Ma On Shan area to participate in a day of fun, games, competition and, of course, the chance to interact with our lovely Professors. Each child had the opportunity to learn how to pet, brush, feed and walk our therapy dogs. With every touch, the children learned that dogs are not disease-carrying animals that bite and snap, but are loving, gentle, and have feelings just like we do.
The children wrapped up the day with a colouring competition and a dance off to our infamous ‘Pet Cadet Song’! Everyone left happy and smiling, the only frowns to be seen were that of the children not wanting to say goodbye to their professors.
This could not have happened without our dedicated volunteers that tirelessly went through worksheet after worksheet and performed the Pet Cadet Song on stage perhaps one too many times! It is good exercise, the kids loved it and we know they’re all itching to do it again!
