years ago this April, Jill Robinson first walked onto a bear bile farm. On that day in April 1993, Jill could have walked away, but she chose to act and do what she could. Today, you also have a choice. If everyone reading this donated just US$20, it would pay for the care of over 150 bears at our China sanctuary for a full year. Please help us celebrate 20 years of progress. Donate US$20 today (or whatever you can afford).
More than 250 people packed the Stonyfell Function Centre on Wednesday 21st October - the perfect venue offering ample space and great atmosphere. Wonderful wine donated by Koltz Wines flowed freely accompanied by cheeses from B.-d. Farm Paris Creek. Phil Harris, auctioneer extraordinaire from Toop & Toop, again gave his time and expertise in extracting maximum funds for our bears from the six live auction items while keen bids were being placed on the 50 silent auction works on display.
All of the pieces on offer were original art works created in aid of the Moon bear rescue. Our thanks go to volunteer Anna Frayne who worked for months to bring the evening together- seeking artists, securing canvases, inspecting venues - then reaching out to an incredible list of family, friends and contacts in Adelaide which filled the venue to bursting point and raised an incredible $18,000. Well done Anna and everyone who helped make the evening such an incredible success.
