years ago this April, Jill Robinson first walked onto a bear bile farm. On that day in April 1993, Jill could have walked away, but she chose to act and do what she could. Today, you also have a choice. If everyone reading this donated just US$20, it would pay for the care of over 150 bears at our China sanctuary for a full year. Please help us celebrate 20 years of progress. Donate US$20 today (or whatever you can afford).
Dr Dog revisits HSBC staff on “Work-Life Balance Day “
October 23 2009
On 23 October 2009 Animals Asia’s Dr Dog team were invited back to visit HSBC to celebrate “Work Life Balance Day” with their staff.
Dr Dog was first invited in 2008 to participate in this meaningful event, first inspired and organized by Jocelyn Endean, Senior Manager Adminstration of HSBC.
Our Dr Dog team started off early in the HSBC Central office where Jill Robinson , our founder, came in with Dr Eddie ( a Guangzhou rescue dog ) joined by our very dedicated team of Dr Dog , Dr Baby, Dr Cha Cha, Dr Goldie, Dr Jack , Dr Lucky , Dr Remy and their guardians .
We were greeted by Jocelyn, Maverick Leung and other HSBC staff. The staff were overjoyed to meet with our canine friends, while listening to Jill tell them how Eddie was rescued from the Guangzhou live animal market. Our Dr Dog guardians also took time to explain to interested staff about how our programme works .

Later on we rushed off to the Tai Koo Shing office where our lovely canine friends were joined by their enthusiastic staff. A great number of the staff are animal lovers and had in-depth discussions on caring about our four-legged friends and other companion animals.
After a short break, our next Dr Dog group headed off to the HSBC Tseung Kwan O IT centre. Hardworking staff took time out to meet some of our therapy dogs – Dr Micky took great interest in the snacks and drinks being offered while our lovely Dr Maisie calmly worked her charm that makes everyone smile .

Near the end of the day, the last group of Dr Dogs – Dr Bebi, Dr Circle, Dr Jack, Dr Maisie, Dr Queen , Dr Waltz and Dr Yat Yat came to greet the hardworking staff at the Tai Kok Tsui centre . The team worked hard to give therapy to the hardworking HSBC staff and loved hearing about the pets the various staff have.
Jocelyn Endean from Senior Management Adminstration at HSBC , reflected: “Thank you for participating in the Work Life Balance Day and the activities that the Bank scheduled for its employees – I think the Dr Dog visits went very well and everyone who met them seemed to enjoy themselves .”
Animals Asia Foundation would like to express our thanks to all the management and staff at HSBC, for inviting us to be part of their event and allowing our Dr Dogs to spread their warmth and love to so many people. Particular thanks go to Jocelyn Endean of Senior Management Administration; Maverick Leung, Sports and Recreation Manager; and Amy Ngo from Corporate Employee Services. And of course, our thanks to all of our Dr Dogs and their guardians for the hard work they do.
