years ago this April, Jill Robinson first walked onto a bear bile farm. On that day in April 1993, Jill could have walked away, but she chose to act and do what she could. Today, you also have a choice. If everyone reading this donated just US$20, it would pay for the care of over 150 bears at our China sanctuary for a full year. Please help us celebrate 20 years of progress. Donate US$20 today (or whatever you can afford).
Magnificent five take the Reading Half Marathon in their stride, raising funds for our beautiful bears
Susan Cassidy and James Vyvyan-Robinson display their affiliation at the Reading Half Marathon.
On a recent cool and sunny day – ideal for runners – Susan Cassidy, Vicky Wilson, Mel Keats, Justin Makore and James Vyvyan-Robinson stormed around the 13.1 mile course of the Reading Half Marathon to raise much-needed funds for our bears in China and Vietnam.
Taking place on 29 March, just a few weeks before the London Marathon, many see it as an ideal training outing, and so a field of over 17,500 took to the streets of Reading with the elite runners recording a time close to the world record of just over the hour.
Our runners may not have been quite in that category but all gave their utmost on behalf of our work and Animals Asia is extremely grateful for their efforts. A full result of funds raised will be posted once the sponsorship is all in.
Animals Asia has charity places available in the Bristol Half Marathon and the Royal Parks Half Marathon later in the year. If you fancy running for the bears please contact info[AT]animalsasia.org
