| Bear bile unhealthy for humans |
A prominent Vietnamese pathologist has expressed concern not only for bears farmed for their bile, but also for the health of humans who consume the bile. Dr Dang van Duong, Chief Pathologist at the Bach Mai Hospital in Hanoi, made the comments in mid-2008 after conducting examinations of the gall bladder specimens of three bears whose damaged gall bladders were removed at our rescue centre in Vietnam.
