years ago this April, Jill Robinson first walked onto a bear bile farm. On that day in April 1993, Jill could have walked away, but she chose to act and do what she could. Today, you also have a choice. If everyone reading this donated just US$20, it would pay for the care of over 150 bears at our China sanctuary for a full year. Please help us celebrate 20 years of progress. Donate US$20 today (or whatever you can afford).
Australia’s First Auction Fundraising Trip - March 2007
Ten lucky Animals Asia supporters travelled to China in March 2007 after successfully bidding for our first China trip dedicated to our Moon Bear Rescue Sanctuary. This once in a lifetime trip offered our travellers an all inclusive 12 day “Highlights of China” tour prepared and led just for Animals Asia by boutique small group travel specialists, Travel Indochina. Travel Indochina (www.travelindochina.com.au).
Including flights to and from Australia, the tour began in Beijing and included all the “must-see” sights including the Forbidden City, Summer Palace, Great Wall, the Terracotta Warriors including internal flights, accommodation and meals.
A highlight for our group was the whole day and a half at the AAF Sanctuary in Chengdu, with Jill Robinson and the beautiful Moon Bears which included a "back of house" tour rarely seen by visitors, and a banquet above the bears dens hosted by Jill herself!
Bidding started at $7,000 to join this tour and were auctioned off online over the New Year and at the Road Show Event during a recent visit to Australia by Jill Robinson. Other than covering travel costs; the remainder of the funds raised went directly to the Moon Bear Rescue and Animals Asia Foundation programmes.
To coincide with Jill’s visit to Australia in February 2008, Animals Asia Foundation will be auctioning off an escorted 11 night tour for twelve people to China.
With unique behind the scenes access to our Bear Rescue Sanctuary, our small group privately guided tour will incorporate the highlights of China to be auctioned off to the highest bidder at each event. For more information, contact AAF’s Australian Office on 1800 666 004 or email [email protected]
