years ago this April, Jill Robinson first walked onto a bear bile farm. On that day in April 1993, Jill could have walked away, but she chose to act and do what she could. Today, you also have a choice. If everyone reading this donated just US$20, it would pay for the care of over 150 bears at our China sanctuary for a full year. Please help us celebrate 20 years of progress. Donate US$20 today (or whatever you can afford).
The United Nations International School (UNIS) actively supports our Moon Bear Rescue campaign in Vietnam, and thanks to the efforts of the students, recently presented Tuan, our Vietnam Director, with a cheque for USD2,400.67. This was a wonderful surprise from the students, who raised the donation through various fund raising activities at the Elementary School (Year 1-6) this year – including “Pyjamas Day for Moon Bears”.
Tuan was invited to the school last week for a short presentation and was delighted to hear the students talk so enthusiastically about trying to help the bears.
The UNIS school council, composed of around 20 students, will soon be visiting our Moon Bear Rescue Centre in Tam Dao National Park, to learn more about moon bears and our work.
Tuan shares a joke and a photo op with some of the students.
Vietnam Director Tuan is presented with a cheque by the UNIS student body.
Students were enthusiastic about future plans to continue to help the bears.
