years ago this April, Jill Robinson first walked onto a bear bile farm. On that day in April 1993, Jill could have walked away, but she chose to act and do what she could. Today, you also have a choice. If everyone reading this donated just US$20, it would pay for the care of over 150 bears at our China sanctuary for a full year. Please help us celebrate 20 years of progress. Donate US$20 today (or whatever you can afford).
We would like to thank everybody who took the time to to send us letters for the Vietnamese Prime Minister, in support of our campaign to free 79 bears still kept illegally on farms in Ha Long Bay, Vietnam. The campaign was extended by a few weeks, following a raid by government officials and the discovery that 24 of these bears are being used for bile extraction on one farm.
We have been inundated with letters - through e-mail, fax and mail - and have received well over 7,000 letters for presentation. There is no doubt that there is worldwide support for our Moon Bear Rescue in Vietnam and we continue to urge the Vietnamese government to implement its own laws to prevent the continuing capture and torture of bears to produce bile for sale on the black market.
Please check back regularly for updates on our progress to free all 79 bears.
