Award-winning Animals Asia documentary “Cages of Shame” premieres in Canada
Animals Asia’s volunteer groups in Toronto and London, ON recently hosted special screening events in their respective cities to premiere the award-winning Animals Asia documentary “Cages of Shame” in Canada.
Audience members in Toronto voiced their passion for the cause, and wanted to know how to get involved. Animals Asia’s North American Development and Major Gifts representative, Alice Ng was pleased to answer questions for more than an hour during the Q&A following the film. Celebrated Toronto-based volunteer and photographer, Jo-Anne McArthur--who has extensively photographed the bears at our Vietnam Bear Rescue Center –– also gave a compelling talk at the event. Vegan snacks were offered as an alternative to usual movie theatre fare.
The London premiere also featured a Q&A with Alice, and delicious vegan treats organized by Southwestern Ontario Volunteer Group leader Colleen Burns. Co-hosted and promoted by King's College Animal Rights Club, the event saw attendees coming from areas spanning Port St. Lucie to St. Thomas.
