A Honey Money Day is a day on which you host your own fundraising event to help Animals Asia save moon bears from the horrific suffering they are subjected to on bear farms across Asia. For more information on bear farming, click here.
Where Does the Money Go?
The money you raise goes directly to Animals Asia’s Moon Bear Rescue project. Presently, we are raising funds to rebuild our Moon Bear Rescue Centre in Chengdu, China. The devastating Sichuan earthquake in May damaged five of our sanctuary buildings so badly that they will have to be rebuilt. We need to raise at least US$500,000 and you can track our progress online with our Honey-O-Meter.
What kind of event should I host?
The event you host is completely your own choice. It can be a dinner party with your friends or it could be after-work drinks. You could have a bake sale at school or a pyjama party. You can organise a marathon or a hike. It can be as simple or as big as you like. To help you along, we have a few suggestions. Please click here for some inspiration. When should I hold my Honey Money Day?
Please hold your event in August or September to celebrate Animals Asia’s 10th Anniversary. If you’re not able to schedule an event during these months and would like to hold one later, please contact your local Animals Asia office to discuss.
How do I raise money?
There are no restrictions on how you raise money. The sky’s the limit! Some of the more common ways are:
Selling tickets to your event.
Setting up a donation box at the event and leaving it up to your guests to donate as much as they like.
Selling raffle tickets.
Holding competitions where the biggest losers have to make a donation.
Holding an auction or having a garage sale.
How do I register?
You can register online by clicking here. You will receive an email from us confirming your registration.
We prefer you to register online, but if you are unable to do so, you can also contact your local office or download a registration form and mail it to us.

I organised an event, but I forgot to register. What do I do?
A big thank you for organising a Honey Money Day event. Please call your local Animals Asia office immediately and they will send you a Host Pack with donation forms and information on how you can bank the funds.
What if I have registered an event but would like to cancel?
If you would like to cancel your event, please contact your local Animals Asia office immediately. We will request that you kindly return your Host Pack to us so we can use it for another event.
What do I get in my host pack?
You will receive a Host Booklet, a Receipt Book, Host Deposit Form, Donation Forms, Moon Bear Rescue leaflets to hand out at your event and a donation box.
What forms of payment can my guests make?
Your guests can make donations in cash, by credit card or cheque. If your guests choose to pay by credit card or cheque, they must fill in a Donation Form.
How do I send you the money raised
Once you have collected all cash, cheque and credit card donations from your event, please fill in your Host Deposit Form and send us the cash portion of the funds via one of three ways:
Cheque/money order: Make a cheque out to Animals Asia Foundation for the cash amount raised and mail it with your completed Host Deposit Form to your local Animals Asia office. To find the address, please click here.
Online payment: Make a payment to us online, either by credit card or debit card and send us your completed Host Deposit Form. To make an online payment, click here.
Bank: Deposit the money straight into our bank account and send us your completed Host Deposit Form.

Whichever method you choose, please remember to send us your Host Deposit Form (filled in by you), Donation Forms (filled in by your guests), Receipt Book, bank deposit slip (if applicable) and guests' cheques by 30 October 2008. This is very important so we can track the payment to you.
What if I lose my Host Deposit Form and/or Donation Forms?
If you lose your forms, please call your local Animals Asia office and we will issue you with more.
What if my guests want to claim a tax deduction on their donation?
As part of your Host Pack, you will receive a Receipt Book. You can issue receipts to your guests on the night. Please don’t forget to return the Receipt Book to us. Please do not issue receipts for goods and services donated.
