Our Hero Dog: Dr Chen Baobao
One of the brightest young stars of the Guangzhou Dr Dog team is four-year old shih tzu Chen BaoBao. After passing her Dr Dog exam with flying colours, this gorgeous girl joined our Dr Dog Programme in 2011 much to the delight of her guardian, long-time volunteer and supporter of the programme, Ms Chen Zhixian. Chen BaoBao had a famous older “brother”, Chen Baby, who at the grand age of 17 was the oldest Dr Dog in Guangzhou before he passed away in 2009. His loving guardian Ms Chen was deeply saddened by the loss, but is so happy to see BaoBao following in his footsteps as an outstanding Dr Dog. Often seen with a colourful ribbon in her hair, and always with the charm of a little princess, Chen BaoBao always attracts plenty of hugs from young children and seniors alike. One of her biggest fans (pictured here) is 99-year old Grandpa Qiu from Nanzhuang Elderly Home, who says she is like his little daughter!

Joining hands to show we care

A heart-warming tale for television

Dr Buddy’s life changed for the better after meeting Ms Chen who rescued him from a negligent owner who did not look after his health. With lots of good care from his new guardian, Buddy went on to pass the Dr Dog exam in 2009 and now visits special-needs children and the elderly.
